When Converse decided to update their iconic Chuck Taylor shoe, they wanted to have a strong online interactive experience for the launch. I was fortunate enough to be the developer who along with the other amazing people at BEAM put together this incredible experience.
The experience involved integration of video of the 3D rendered shoe exploding apart to highlight the various details of the product. Using various animation and timing techniques, the scroll-based navigation page guided the user to a lower page section with more information and shop.
Additionally the site broke down to tablet and mobile sizes with a combination of adaptive and responsive techniques. The video was replaced with a canvas based frame animation to allow give the appearance of video playback while getting around some of the iOS issues with inline video elements.
